Is this ingredient causing your headaches?

So you think you don’t eat MSG?

I used to think that MSG was only a problem in Chinese food.

I was aware of “Chinese Restaurant Syndrome”, a group of symptoms caused by a food additive, monosodium glutamate (MSG).

MSG is ubiquitous

  • If you use prepared, packaged, boxed or canned foods you are eating MSG.
  • If you eat in restaurants you are eating MSG.
  • MSG is commonly found in soups, dressings, bouillon, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, frozen food, ice cream, Doritos, Potato Chips, Ramen Noodles, Hamburger Helper, Canned gravy, Frozen meals, Accent, Natural Meat Tenderizer, frozen pizza, salad dressing, jerky, barbecue sauces, steak sauce, and many more processed foods.

This chemical is added by the food industry to trick the taste bud receptors.

The brain is fooled into thinking that the food tastes better than it actually does.

Studies dating back to 1957 have shown the adverse effects.

The first study showed that cells in the retina are damaged by MSG.

In 1968 studies showed that the neural connections in the brain were killed.

Dr. John Olney used the term “excitotoxicity” to refer to the way that MSG killed nerve cells by exciting them to death.

Our bodies were created with a system to keep naturally-occurring glutamate from entering the brain.

The problem is, there is so much glutamate in our food that the safety system in our bodies is being overwhelmed, allowing glutamate to seep into the brain and cause great harm.

  • A child’s brain is four times more sensitive to the adult brain.
  • When our children snack on foods containing MSG their brain is stimulated to such a degree that behavior changes may be observed within 30 minutes.

MSG is hiding in snack foods children enjoy and many infant formulas.

What’s in a McNugget?

Consult the McDonald’s “nutrition” information and you will not see the words “Monosodium glutamate” or “MSG” and yet it is there hiding.

I’ll tell you how to be a sleuth and find hidden MSG on food labels.

Chicken McNuggets®

Is hidden MSG making us fat?

MSG causes gross obesity in animal studies.

Neurosurgeon Dr. Russell Blaylock, MD says that the human brain is five times greater than the mouse and 20 times greater than the rhesus monkey.

Shocker: The food label may claim, “MSG-free” and yet contain equally dangerous “free glutamates” or other MSG alias names.

This harmful neurotoxin leads to and/or worsens many health problems ranging from:

  • Headaches
  • Mood change
  • Nausea
  • Joint pain
  • Sleep disorders
  • Chronic post nasal drip
  • Heart irregularities
  • Asthma
  • ADD
  • Depression
  • Obesity
  • Brain fog

MSG…

  • is potentially toxic to everyone.
  • can cross the placental barrier.
  • is most toxic to the unborn, to infants, to children, and to the elderly.
  • is found in medications
  • is hidden in most restaurant food and many processed foods

Restaurants may not realize that the sauces and packaged food they purchase contain these hidden ingredients. Asking the question, “does this food contain MSG” will not help.

MSG hides under many alias names

• Free Glutamate, Glutamic Acid

• Monopotassium glutamate

• textured protein

• hydrolyzed vegetable protein

• plant protein extract

• sodium caseinate

• TVP (textured vegetable protein)

• autolyzed plant protein

• autolyzed yeast, yeast extract

• soy protein isolate

• natural flavors, artificial flavors

• often MSG hides under the name “spices” or “seasoning”

Now, go back to that list of ingredients above for chicken nuggets. Can you find the hidden MSG?
