Why You Need to supplement Vitamin C

Do you get sick frequently?

Do you bruise easily?

Do your wounds heal slowly?

Does your hair feel brittle and weak?

Do you have dry, scaly skin?

Are your joints sore?

Do you experience bleeding gums or loose teeth?

These are all symptoms of vitamin C deficiency.

Vitamin C has numerous functions in the body

  • Significantly boosts the immune system.
  • Is a key component in collagen production, which helps to repair and develop cells, tissues, and organs to support healthy skin, hair, nails and joints.
  • Aids in wound healing.
  • Decreases the rate of gum disease, stomach cancer, heart disease.
  • Improves hormone levels in women and increases fertility
  • Increases nitric oxide (NO) production which helps your cardiovascular system work better. NO keeps blood vessels open and flowing.

Why are Your Vitamin C Levels Low?
  • You aren’t taking in enough vitamin C. Vitamin C must be consumed in food or supplements because it cannot be made by our bodies.
  • Normal aging.
  • You have taken antibiotics, aspirin, birth control pills, cortisone, pain killers, or sulfa drugs.
  • You have Type 2 Diabetes.

How to Supplement
  • Most cheap vitamin C supplements are using a synthetic form of ascorbic acid that comes from genetically modified corn.
  • Use vitamin C supplements that are formulated with vitamin C rich whole food ingredients.
  • Super C Chewable Tablets use whole food sources of vitamin C to significantly boosts the immune system.
  • This supplement is high in antioxidants and helps the body’s natural detoxification process.
  • Chew one tablet three times a day. Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin, so leaves the body quickly but is needed all day long.

How to Supplement

Option 1 – Super C Chewable

==================================

Super C Chewables use whole food sources of vitamin C to significantly boost the immune system, providing 460 mg of food form ingredients, high in vitamin C along with 150 mg vitamin C (as ascorbic acid).

This supplement is high in antioxidants and helps the body’s natural detoxification process.

Chew one tablet three times a day.

When extra reinforcement is needed, take more vitamin C.

When I need extra reinforcement, I take Vitamin C to “bowel tolerance”

“Bowel tolerance” means take Vitamin C in a high enough dose to saturate the body when you are below the wellness line (if using the chewable, that may mean chewing one an hour).Your stomach will make gurgling noises, and when you continue to supplement with Vitamin C it can lead to loose bowels. This is temporary, not harmful, and when trying to saturate your body with Vitamin C, it is a very helpful goal!

Vitamin C is a water soluble vitamin, so it leaves the body quickly, but is needed all day long.

How to Supplement

Option 2 – Buffered Vitamin C Powder

==================================

  • When you want to saturate your body quickly with Vitamin C, using a buffered Vitamin C powder is very effective.
  • The sicker the person is, the more Vitamin C they need.
  • Andrew Saul (DoctorYourself.com) has researched and utilized high dose vitamin C with thousands of people. Visit his website to learn more about dosages.
  • In general, for adults, try mixing 8 to 10 scoops (about 10g) buffered vitamin C powder in one cup of water. Keep the mixture in a glass jar, covered, to protect from oxygen. Drink 1/4 cup every 4 hours.
  • Dr. Russell Jaffe describes a method to quickly take buffered ascorbate with feeling under the weather, when your body’s need for vitamin C is very high. That method is described below

==================================

Vitamin C – How to quickly find the dose your body needs during illness

==================================

Best to start on an empty stomach, first thing in the morning

There is an initial “calibration” by flooding the body with vitamin C to the point of saturation

Dissolve 1 scoop (1.2 grams) of buffered vitamin C powder in 2 – 4 ounces of water. Drink after a minute or two.

Keep a record, writing down the time consumed and amount of each dosage.

Repeat every 15 minutes.

Many people find that preparing a “batch” of ascorbate allows for easier, consumption, rather than making up a new batch every 15 minutes. You may want to dissolve 4 scoops in 16 ounces of water, store in a jar with a lid, consume 4 ounces every 15 minutes.

A person in ill health may begin with 2 scoops every 15 minutes.

How long do you keep this up?

Dr. Jaffe wrote, “If after four doses there is no gurgling or rumbling in the gut, you should double the initial dosage and continue every 15 minutes.

“Continue with these instructions at the proper time intervals until you reach a watery stool or an enema-like evacuation of liquid from the rectum. This is as if a quart or so of liquid is expressed from the rectum. CAUTION : Do not stop at loose stool. You want to energize the body to “flush out” toxins and reduce the risk that they may recirculate and induce problems.”

What happens next?

Take your total dosage required to hit the “flush out” point and multiply by .75.

This will give you a current maximum daily dose, but instead of taking every 15 minutes, just consume in four divided doses.

Example:

If you took 1.2 grams every 15 minutes for two hours before you reached the “flush out” point, you consumed about 10 grams total (1.2 x 8 doses).

Going forward, your daily requirements are going to be met by 75% of that dose, so you never get to the loose bowel point.

In the example, the total for the day is 7.5 grams (10g x .75).

Four divided doses is 1.87 grams of buffered vitamin C powder per dose, which is about 1.5 scoops. You can mix 1.5 scoops in water, four times a day. Alternatively, you can mix 6 scoops of the powder in a jar with 16 ounces of water, keep the lid on the jar and consume throughout the day, or drink 4 ounces every four hours.

Changing Ascorbate Need

Dr. Jaffe wrote, “As you become healthier, the ascorbate is used more efficiently and is better conserved in your body and less ascorbate will be needed to achieve the desired effect. As your need for ascorbate decreases, you may notice loosening of the stool indicating that your body is consuming ascorbate more efficiently and your need has decreased. That is the time to taper ascorbate intake. As you become familiar with your body’s responses, your need for and best timing of ascorbate is likely to become clear through direct experience with this protocol.”

Switching back to the chewable

You may use buffered vitamin C powder as a liquid, or switch over to the chewable vitamin C tablet mentioned earlier for maintenance of daily vitamin C needs.

The chewable vitamin C tablet delivers 150mg as ascorbic acid and 460mg of a blend of vitamin C food form ingredients.
