When is the best time to drink green tea?

Did you know?

Avoid drinking green tea one hour before or one hour after a meal.

Why? Drinking green tea inhibits the absorption of nutrients. The caffeine and tannins in the tea act as an obstruction to the absorption of the nutrients.

We want the benefits of EGCG found in green tea.

  • It is an antioxidant that is a free radical scavenger
  • Fights inflammation
  • Blocks neurodegeneration which leads to loss of cognitive skills and memory
  • Anti-cancer properties
  • Metal-chelating abilities
  • Supports healthy metabolism

Green Tea has been extensively studied and researchers have found its active constituents to be a family of polyphenols called catechins. One catechin in particular, epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCg) has demonstrated extraordinary free radical quenching power in laboratory studies.
