Is Sugar Toxic?

The story on YouTube

Yes. Sugar is Toxic.

  • Sugar fuels cancer growth, obesity, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease.
  • Americans eat 1/3 pound added sugar per day.
  • Artificial sweeteners are no better.
  • High Fructose Corn Syrup is toxic and irresistible.
  • Too much fructose creates small dense LDL. This is the connection between HFCS and heart disease.

Its not the fat.

  • The food industry took the fat out of the food (and it tastes like cardboard). So what did they do? They added sugars.

Functional MRI scans show that sugar activates the brain like cocaine.

  • Sugar stimulates the reward center of the brain, dopamine is released. Just as it would in response to drugs or alcohol.
  • Makes you feel euphoria.
  • Sugar is one of the most addictive substances we have, similar to cocaine response.
  • People who frequently drink soda, or eat sweets, build up a tolerance. It causes changes in the brain. This blunts the reward center in the brain, causing you to eat more and more.

Studies of patients with controlled food intake show that a calorie is not a calorie.

  • When 25% calories were replaced with sugar drinks, the people drinking HFCS showed an increase in LDL within weeks.
  • Liver becomes overloaded – ->
    • FAT is produced as a result – ->
      • it enters the blood, and we see an increase in small dense LDL which goes on to form plaque.

Cancer and Sugar

1/3 of some common cancers have insulin receptors on the tumor surface.

  • Insulin signals the tumor to consume glucose to grow.
  • Every cell in our body needs glucose, but the tumors use glucose to grow.
  • Insulin can cause adverse effects.
  • Tumor takes up glucose like a muscle cell uses glucose – the cancer hijacks the flow of glucose into the tumor.

What do we do? We are addicted!

  • Stop eating sugar and other sweeteners.
