Proper Hydration
Our blood is 80 percent water.
Thus, hydration levels are critical in blood chemistry.
Use water as your first medicine.
Headache? Reach for water before aspirin.
Feeling tired?
Skip the afternoon coffee and reach for water to increase your energy and focus.
Drink Clean, Filtered Water – Not Tap Water
Tap water usually has too many toxic chemicals present, so filter your own water at home. I use AquaSana. They have several options from a filter for your kitchen sink to a whole house water filter.
Keep track of your water intake and aim for about 100oz fluids a day.
Salt and Electrolytes
Get it right – you need more than just plain water – you need extra mineral salt or use a quality electrolyte powder.
Electrolytes
I add unflavored Re-Lyte to my water for balancing minerals.
- It is a blend of electrolytes and trace minerals.
- The company also offers several flavors if you don’t like the taste of salty water.
https://amzn.to/4bZzMXs - Start by adding 1/4 – 1/2 scoop per quart of water. Increase to one scoop a day, or more depending on your diet (going into ketosis will require more) and physical activity.
- It can be taken pre- and/or post-workout.
- Use electrolyte water in the morning to rehydrate after sleeping all night.
You will feel more energized and focused by adding these electrolytes to your daily water.
I tried two other electrolyte powders on the market before I settled on Re-Lyte. I love it.
