Instant Pot Hard Boiled Eggs

Make hard boiled eggs! EZ first project. The benefit: clean up is simple and the eggs peel so easy. No more cracked egg mess in the pot. No more guessing how long to cook the eggs. 

 

  • Add 1 cup cold water to the inner pot
  • Insert the steamer rack or your own silicone Steamer Basket or a stainless steel egg steamer rack

  • Close the lid, press Manual to select 8 minutes (at high pressure)
  • When time is up, use Quick Pressure Release (protect yourself with gloves!)
  • Remove eggs and place in bowl with ice water
  • Behold…the perfect hard boiled egg

Instant Pot Sweet potatoes

  • Scrub 4 medium sweet potatoes
  • Add 1 cup water to the inner pot
  • Insert the steamer rack or your own silicone Steamer Basket
  • Add potatoes
  • Place the vent to “sealed”
  • Steam for 10 minutes
  • Allow the potatoes to sit while the Instant Pot reduces pressure

 

 

Instant Pot Whole Chicken

  • 1 onion
  • 2 carrots
  • 2 celery
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 1 whole chicken
  • Pour 2 cups of water into a separate bowl, add vegetables and garlic and set aside
  • Rub the whole chicken with 1 tsp paprika, 1 tsp thyme, 1/4 tsp pepper, 1/2 tsp Real Salt
  • Add 2 Tbs Avocado Oil to the inner pot in the Instant Pot
  • Select “Saute” on Instant Pot and allow it to warm up for a few minutes
  • Add Chicken, breast side down, cook 4 minutes without the lid on the pot
  • Flip the chicken and cook an additional 4 minutes.
  • Press “Cancel” on Instant Pot
  • Remove the chicken to a platter for a moment
  • Add the vegetables and water (that were previously set aside) to the Instant Pot
  • Add the metal trivet on top of the vegetables
  • Return the chicken to the pot
  • Lock Lid
  • Turn vent to “Sealing”
  • Select Manual and cook 6 minutes per pound plus 2 minutes
    • 4 pounds, 26 minutes; 5 pounds, 32 minutes
  • Allow chicken to stay in the pot 15 minutes after cooking time ends and depressurize naturally
  • Remove chicken

Instant Pot Meatballs

  • From ThisIsSoGoodHome.com
    • 2 pounds of ground beef
    • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
    • 1/2 large sweet onion, diced small
    • 2 eggs
    • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
    • 1 teaspoon Paprika
    • 1 Tablespoon dried parsely
    • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
    • 1/4 cup coconut flour
    • 1 quart of Marinara Sauce
    • Cook on Manual for 30 minutes
    • Release the pressure wearing a protective oven mitt.

Instant Pot Bone Broth

  • IMG_47601 stalk celery, in 4 chunks
  • 1 carrot, in 4 chunks
  • Add bones from 1 or 2 chickens
  • Cover with water, filling the inner pot no more than 2/3 full
  • Add 1 Tbs raw apple cider vinegar
  • Use the SOUP setting
  • Increase time to 120 minutes
  • High Pressure
  • Allow the bone broth to remain in the pot until the pressure is released
  • Strain out the solids
  • Add 1 Tsp Real Salt to each quart of broth
  • Store in glass jars if the broth will be consumed within 3 or 4 days, otherwise freeze
