How to have a healthy placenta and healthy pregnancy

Everyone is looking for super nutrition, right?

While this post is dedicated to pregnant moms, we would all benefit from incorporating these nutritional powerhouse supplements and oils into our daily must-haves.

How to have a healthy placenta.

The placenta provides nutrients and oxygen to your growing baby, and removes waste products from baby’s blood. Avoid harmful chemicals in personal care and cleaning products, BPA, etc
Be mindful of nutrition, key supplements, exercise, deep breathing and hydration to have a healthy placenta.

  • Support healthy gut flora, take a probiotic (Life9)
  • Eat a healthy diet and include quality protein, healthy fats, vegetables, fruit, seeds, nuts.
  • Stay hydrated, drink clean water throughout the day, at least 3 quarts.

Fat

Most of baby’s brain is comprised of fat. Up your intake of healthy fats in your diet and up the Omega3 fats. Eat wild caught fish like salmon and cod, but be sure to supplement with OmegaGize daily. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) a daily intake of omega-3 fatty acids is recommended during pregnancy

Oxygen and oxidation

Early on, the embryo develops in a low oxygen environment until the beginning of the second trimester when large amounts of oxygen are used to meet the growth requirements of the fetus. Lots is going on in the placenta. Metabolism is high and along with that comes oxidative stress in the placenta. Super nutrition with high-antioxidant foods is important.

Magnesium

At least 75% of adults are deficient in magnesium. Mamas, during pregnancy your needs for magnesium greatly increase. Magnesium helps build and repair tissue for you and your baby. Proper magnesium helps support blood pressure and the flow of blood, better amniotic fluid, better pregnancy. Think about MegaCal and epsom salt baths to support healthy magnesium levels. If doctors would only prescribe magnesium along with the prenatal vitamin we would see better outcomes related to blood pressure and pre-eclampsia.
